Understanding the Esports Metaverse

There are 3 really important insights we gain from the last decade of digital transformations, which help us understand why esports is so crucial to a national active lifestyles strategy and to understand this, the concept of the esports metaverse is crucial.

Introduction: What is the Esports Metaverse?

The idea of a metaverse denotes a world where there are no barriers to moving across digital spaces and for this to be seamlessly connected to the physical world, creating a singular experience of reality. It is a concept found in philosophical studies where scholars have inquired into the nature of reality and the implications of creating alternate realities for how we experience our lives.

Today, this means designing a collaborative vision for the future of digital experiences, rather like how Sir Tim Berners Lee created the World Wide Web, but where these experiences have a physical dimension. People in the metaverse would be able to plug themselves into a virtual world and travel through it without the need for disconnecting.
